A new year: a new look on things….
First of all I am so sorry I have not been blogging like I should but I guess you can blame that on my new life and Facebook world.
Secondly, since I been engaged I realized things have a different meaning to me or not to take things for granted. So much has happened since I posted.
Alexis was a part of Kidshape for 9 weeks, so we had to go to the meetings for once a week at her school for 9 times in the months September-November.
Jerry was hospitalized for stress/headaches and then also had a sleep study done and found he has sleep apnea. He now has to wear a sleep mask.
My dad was hospitalized in the ICU for almost 2 weeks before being able to go home due to his COPD/lung issues. (During Christmas time)
Since the new year…the weather has been so cold and miserable and snowy, Jerry and I been almost snowbound and having cabin fever.
Then there is the Wedding Planning…We had to find a Church and a hall now hopefully the rest will fall in place…
And not to mention that Alexis is also keeping me busy with school work, when she has homework, so does mom. The teacher wants the parent involvement.
So as you can see this new year made me look into new things and appreciate what I do have: FAMILY AND MY LIFE!

As of 9-9-09…
As of today 9-9-09, I became engaged that is right. After officially being his GF on my birthday 8-24-09. We had ordered a couples ring as well as a new daughter/mother ring that same week (Week of the 8/24) because I had lost my mother’s ring but now I have an engagement ring.
Here is how he proposed:
My friend Tina finally came over to visit me also to ask for some help from me (to do a Grant proposal) and well Jerry told me he had to go to the Mall to pick something up…
I admit I was a bit confused since I thought he did take care of THAT already on Tuesday when we did the finalization with the saleslady but what am I suppose to know right? 
Plus, my daughter did give me a hint last night after we left the Jewelery place that she had a feeling tomorrow/today would be a good day lol .
And Jerry did mention also he wanted us come back to the Mall but I told him about Tina being here all day (Weds/today) from 12 noon until 6pm. And goes oh yes that is right….so that was end of it.
So anyhow, once he came back from the mall, I figured he would wait until the right moment or whatever…but nope….he called Alexis into the room while my friend and my other friend was there too (PCA) and all of the sudden went on his one knee and and opened the box with the ring in it and said, “Well?” With a big goofy grin on his face…
I then looked at him I said, Of course. And started tearing up…because he did it in front of my bff and I really did not expect that at all and not like I didn’t mind it either.
But then he started to put it on the WRONG finger on my left hand lol …he was so nervous hehe.
And that is when Alexis said, “you were not kidding when u said you were going to give it to her as soon as you got it home…” lol
She was so excited because he did try to make her part of this as much as possible too. And she has been admiring this ring as much as I have teheee. Gotta love her.

Summer over…Back to School 8-31-09
Alexis started school today and thankfully she does like her teacher and is somewhat happy with who she has in her homeroom/classes and it does sound like this teacher has a good system with homework and discipline! (Which mommy likes!)
Alexis got a new Hannah Montana book bag for being a 2nd grader this year.
It is so hard to believe she is my second grader now!

It is my birthday 8-24-09 and I officially have a new BF!
My Dad has been sick and been in the hospital. So unfortunately, my parents could not take me out but one my guy friends offered to take my out to dinner for my birthday with Alexis. The only thing though, before dinner he gave me a “birthday kiss” and that threw off because this is the same guy who has had a crush on me since he met me last May 39th, 2008 but I told him we could not be a couple but after my birthday celebration I been wondering why we could not be? He would not let pay for a thing then and he would not for my birthday. Plus, every time we do something as “friends” he would buy something or treat me like a queen, something a boyfriend should do for a girlfriend not among friends.
So, basically after some serious thought before the evening was over I told him that I would be happy to be his girlfriend and have a “relationship” with him after all. It just made his day as well as mine.
